Judge Alden served as a trial court Judge for 17 years in Fairfax County, presiding over every type of civil dispute. At the same time she became a sought-after Professor at the George Mason University School of Law, teaching evidence and procedure, and she served as a full time faculty member upon her retirement from the Bench. Judge Alden pursued her scholarly interests in procedural law into global legal issues, and began a tireless effort to improve access to justice in tribunals worldwide. Judge Alden has made presentations to Judges in Brazil, Italy, Hungary, India, Russia, South Korea, Jordan, Tanzania and Turkey. She now devotes her professional time to assisting parties through her extensive ADR practice.
