Judge Willett spent over forty years trying cases in Virginia’s Circuit Courts, both as a trial lawyer and a judge. He has handled a wide variety of cases from the commonplace to those with national significance. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, whose membership is awarded exclusively to lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethics and civility. Membership in the College is limited to no more than 1% of the total lawyer population in any state.
Judge Willett is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell. As such, he possesses a unique perspective that allows him to assess the true value of a case and the strength/admissibility of the evidence. He frequently lectures to various bar groups on trial advocacy and the Rules of Evidence.
